Privacy Policy

Carolina Custom Models is a small shop in North Carolina. This page explains what this website collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated October 11, 2026.

The short version

  • We collect only what you type into our forms, plus a one-way hash of your IP address to stop abuse.
  • We use it only for your reservation and the project you reserved. There’s no newsletter.
  • We never sell or share your details, and there’s no advertising or tracking on this site.
  • You can release your reservation with one click, and ask us for a copy of your details or to delete them.

What we collect when you reserve

When you reserve a set or join a waitlist, we store:

  • your name and email address
  • which version you chose and how many sets
  • any notes you add
  • the status of your reservation and when you submitted, confirmed or released it
  • a one-way, salted hash of your IP address. We never store the address itself.

If the form shows an error, what you typed is held on our server for 10 minutes so the form can be filled back in, then discarded.

If you ask for a reminder

If you ask us to email you when reservations open, we store your email address, when you asked, and the same IP hash. We email you once to confirm the address, then once when reservations open, and then delete it. An address that’s never confirmed is deleted after two days, and you can cancel a reminder at any time with the link in its confirmation email.

How we use it

  • To hold your place, and to check the email address is really yours through the confirmation link we send.
  • To email you about your reservation and this project: confirmations, waitlist offers, and when your set is ready to buy.
  • To stop spam and abuse. The IP hash lets us limit how often one connection can submit the form.

We don’t send marketing email and we don’t use your details for anything else.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare carries all traffic to this site and protects it from attacks, so your IP address and browser details pass through Cloudflare’s network on the way here. Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
  • Google sends our email through Gmail, and our inbox is a Gmail account. When we email you, your name, email address and the message pass through Google’s servers. Google’s privacy policy.

That’s everyone. The website and the reservation list live on our own server in North Carolina, and we don’t sell or share your details with anyone else.

Cookies, analytics and embeds

This site doesn’t set cookies for visitors, and there’s no analytics, advertising or tracking. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor isn’t a bot. Our fonts are served from this site, and there are no embedded videos or social media posts. The YouTube, Instagram and Facebook links take you to those sites, where their own privacy policies apply.

How long we keep it

We keep reservation details while the project needs them, through production and delivery of the sets, and delete them sooner if you ask. Our web server’s request logs, which include IP addresses, are overwritten automatically and kept only briefly. Nightly backups of the site are kept for 14 days, so deleted details can remain in a backup for up to two weeks.

Your choices

  • Release your reservation at any time with the link in your confirmation email.
  • Cancel a reminder with the link in its confirmation email.
  • Ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. Email from the address you reserved with and we’ll reply within 30 days.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their details.

Changes

If how we handle your details changes, for example when we start taking orders and payments, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
